Getting it Done

Purveyor of pop is back!
I have been developing sketches for story boards as well as finishing up my new wallpaper for everyone to have. I would say that Im 70 % finished and it is turning out as well as I had hoped. It's not often that an artists is happy with their own work so I'm enjoying this short lived feeling. I should have something to put up for you all soon. I do however have a sneak peak for all of you. Here is an image of the faces of the main characters coming out from BIG IRON c registered and trademarked Big Iron Entertainment Studios.

Big Iron Entertainment

SpiderMan, Black Cat, Doctor Octopus, Kingpin, Captain America, and Hulk are copyright and Trademark of Marvel Comics. Superman is copyright and trademark of DC comics. OUTCAST'S (EPOCH) is trademark and copyright BIG IRON ENTERTAINMENT a division of PKMM Inc. Its snowing out today and I have an 180 degree view of the skyline from my office/studio. Its cold in here though. Brrr! Im still working on my double page spread (screensaver) for you all to see. Been chatting with all my comic book buds while working. FYI Tex is Kickin A$$ on His upcoming Wolverine story with Chris Yost! My twin brother is doing some "fancrazy" (yes I created that word) stuff for a new online project that will make your head spin from the level of detail. I am writing too. Man, it takes a lot to really put all the pieces together. sometimes I don't even do sketches I just go straight to the bristol. It could take me days until I actually put in half the picture. I would not advise this for those of you who are unfamiliar with creating elaborate yet subtle designs. Unfortunately for me it took years to learn design enough for it to just come out. I struggled in my teens and early twenties. My suggestion for any of you. Study old master paintings. Baroque art is great for asymmetric designs. You may want to pick up a camera also. The impressionists saw composition differently due to the camera. Also, the most important yet most elusive thing to consider when designing is..........I'm sorry folks were all out of time. Tune in next time for the answer! Haha! just kidding. =P the most important yet most elusive thing to consider when designing is "NEGATIVE SPACE!!!!!!  Well thats all for my numb self today! I hope you all stay warm and happy and draw draw draw!!!!! PS Heres some old pics I did for you guys to check out.

Drawn to please

Purveyor of Pop here.

I did a lot of drawing the past few days. I am currently working on a screen saver for everyone. I'm actually drawing it in gray tones first then going to color. It is taking some time to do. The main figure is a queen standing next to a balcony. Beyond the balcony is futuristic sky scrapers and flying cars. I want this place to seem as if it is right out of the Victorian era but way into the future. Earth like yet definitely not Earth. She stands with her back turned to us yet turns her head to look towards us over her shoulder. In the foreground on the left side of the image (double page spread) are some figures that..........well you'll just have to wait and see. Hehe. Ok guys be well and I'll be sure to try and scan and post some of my recent work for you all to see. Thanks so much for coming.

Purveyor of Pop!!

Hello all!
Ian Dorian here. Thank you for coming to visit my world. I have been here since I sprang from my mothers womb like an atom bomb. Well, not really. I was a barely alive premature twin with a passion for crying. None the less here we are! Since that fateful day I have been creating and manipulating the world to my desires. I have drawn up my plans for world domination!!! OK. Maybe I've just drawn my dreams and fantasies and love to share them with the world. It is truly a gift. I hope you all enjoy my work. Feel free to comment or ask questions on theme or technique as I have been a teacher and professor for over a decade. Always remember one should always read lots and dream big but application is the key to understanding!
